How to fight fatigue and lack of energy and live a full life

image

Stress is a normal and inevitable part of our life. Regardless of gender, age or place of living, the daily routine of school or work to household chores requires each of us to spend enormous amounts of energy, which is not easy to restore. That’s why for most of us the feeling of tiredness and fatigue has actually become an integral companion of life, and corporations spend millions of dollars on training and motivating their employees.

Moreover, whole industries are eager to make money on this. Just visit any general store and you will see a lot of food additives, vitamins and herbs advertised as a means to restore energy. Following market trends and playing on human fatigue, manufacturers add them to conventional products such as soft drinks. However, the practical effect of guarana, ginseng and other energy accelerators has not yet been scientifically proven. The good news is that there are other proven ways to overcome the lack of energy and let us live a full life. Here are some of them:

1.  Recognise the Problem

By simply admitting the problem, you are making the first step towards solving it. If stress and fatigue affect your life, attempts to find justification for them will not solve the problem. Only by recognising the problem can you begin working on an effective plan to reduce stress and fatigue and focus on the important aspects of your life.

2. Reduce the Load

One of the main causes of lack of energy is chronic fatigue. It can be caused by excessive social, family or professional obligations. Make a reassessment of your priorities. Are all your business and responsibilities important and of value to you? Without hesitation, get rid of those that are less important to you and do not be afraid to delegate your tasks. A request for help will not harm you, but excessive stress will do.

3. Learn to Relax

Tense emotions consume a vast amount of your energy. Chatting with family or friends, visiting support groups or consulting a therapist can stop the development of excessive stress, and meditation, yoga or other relaxation therapies are an effective way to reduce the level of unavoidable stress.

Devote yourself time every day. Just a few minutes a day without distractions can give you the necessary reboot. Meditation and breathing practices can help achieve inner harmony. Even simple self-hypnosis by repeating a simple phrase such as “I’m good” can increase positive emotions and reduce negative ones.

4. Don’t Isolate Yourself

Despite the fact that the desire to escape from all may seem the most optimal and safe option, looping inside of yourself is most likely lead to aggravation of negative emotions. Therefore, don’t avoid people who can support or cheer you up. There is nothing wrong with letting your surroundings know that you are emotionally and physically devastated. If necessary, seek professional help, but do not try to solve all your problems alone.

5. Limit Your Sleep

Although a good sleep pattern is an integral part of a healthy life, if you are worried that you could become sleep-deprived, try to reduce sleep time. This advice is strange at first glance. However, only by determining the really necessary amount of sleep, you can reduce the total time spent in bed. This will facilitate the process of falling asleep and, in the long run, contribute to a more peaceful sleep. If you feel the need for a daytime nap, do not deny yourself the pleasure. However, if after that you wake up feeling worse, think, is it really necessary?

6.  Keep Active Lifestyle

No matter how strange it sounds, physical activity can reduce the level of chronic fatigue and give you extra energy. Exercise is perhaps the most important thing you can do to keep your energy levels full. Physical exercises are able to increase blood flow to the brain, helping it to generate a pleasant and soothing hormones that could effectively reduce stress. Simple outdoor walking can be a great way not to only burn some calories, but to reduce your anxiety, clear you thoughts and improve your mood at the same time.

7. Change Your Meal Habits

Pay attention to your food. Instead of having three traditional meals a day, try to snack in small portions every few hours. This approach provides the body with constant feeding and can lessen your perception of fatigue.

Remember that the main purpose of nutrition is to get energy, not pleasure. Add more foods with a low glycemic index to your diet. These products include high-fiber vegetables, whole grains, nuts and natural oils. Carbohydrates from such products are absorbed by the body for a longer time, which means they feed you with energy longer. On the other hand, products such as sweets, canned fruits, potatoes and alcohol have quickly absorbed carbohydrates and starches, so it’s better to limit their consumption. And don’t forget to stay hydrated. If your body doesn’t have enough fluid, one of the first signs is a feeling of fatigue.

8. Give up Smoking

Everyone knows that smoking is dangerous to your health. However, the less known fact is that smoking prevents you from restoring energy by causing insomnia. The nicotine consumed when smoking tobacco is a stimulant of cardiac activity. It increases blood pressure, speeds up the pulse and stimulates the part of the brain responsible for wakefulness. Needless to say, all this makes it difficult to fall asleep and reduces the quality of sleep.

9. Avoid Alcohol

A glass of wine at dinner is one of the best ways to get a breakdown in the middle of the day. The sedative effect of alcohol is especially strong in the morning. Likewise, if you need energy in the evening, it’s better to skip the “happy hours” at the bar. If you’re still going to drink, try to choose the right time so that you have the opportunity to regain energy.

10.  Smile More!

This advice requires the least amount of effort. In addition to the fact that the smile uses the internal anchors of the body, forcing it to produce hormones of happiness, it can also have a positive impact on those around you, who may also require support. Remember that it takes less energy for a smile than for a frown.

To sum it up, simply by making health choices and living smarter every day, everyone can fight fatigue and live a life full of energy!
