Avery Ranch Golf Club: The #1 Choice for Local Golf Tournaments

image

With its booming job market – particularly in the tech industry – pleasant climate, progressive social attitude, and renowned reputation as the “Live Music Capital of the World,“ it’s not surprising that Austin, Texas, is one of the fastest-growing metropolitan regions in the United States.

Aside from the many undeniably appealing positive factors that make Austin a popular and highly desirable place to work, live, and play, one of the region’s often overlooked attractions is its dedicated commitment to outdoor recreational pursuits. Some of the most popular past times in Austin are bicycling, jogging, hiking, tennis, and watersports (boating, fishing, and swimming). But perhaps the outdoor sporting activity most closely associated with the Austin region is golfing.

Located in the Texas Hill Country of northwest Austin, Avery Ranch Golf Club and their subsidiary Teravista Golf Club have been some of the area’s most popular and challenging golf courses near Austin TX.

Utilizing the area’s unique natural Hill Country topography – rolling hills, natural limestone caverns, lazily meandering streams, picturesque Lake Avery, spectacular views – Avery Ranch offers magnificent, top-level golf amid picture-perfect surroundings. The club also provides unmatched amenities and friendly, accommodating service for all its participants, whether they are club members, local golfers, or vacationers.

Along with providing its clientele with some of the best and most challenging golf experiences in central Texas, Avery Ranch Golf Club has also earned a well-deserved reputation for its local golf tournaments. Owing to its impressive track record in the planning, promoting, and staging of these events, Avery Ranch has become a favored location for numerous local (and statewide) charity and corporate fundraising organizations looking for the absolute best venue for their special get-togethers.

Avery Ranch’s highly-trained staff is fully capable of providing every imaginable need their guests require, regardless of the size or special requirements of the party. Some of the benefits offered to golf groups include: reduced group rates for cart and greens fees and practice facilities; expert advice and assistance from an accredited PGA professional; ample food and beverage facilities for the group, both pre- and post-round; and professional catering services available for special gatherings. All of these amenities are delivered with Avery Ranch’s complete and total dedication to impeccable customer service and satisfaction.

As for the Avery Ranch course itself, few courses in central Texas can boast of as many glowing testimonials routinely given by both beginning golfers and seasoned professionals. Avery Ranch’s front nine is especially challenging, with meticulously maintained and gorgeous fairways lined by towering oak trees, highlighted by the eye-catching number seven hole, one of the course’s most praised. Avery Ranch’s back nine is similarly challenging and picturesque, consisting of a uniquely balanced trio of par three, four, and five holes. Golfers close out their round on the course’s signature 18th hole, a 477-yard par four of a challenge that borders shimmering 60-acre Lake Avery, providing a perfect ending to what’s guaranteed to be one of the best golfing experiences that Austin has to offer.

How Do You Get A Social Security Card If You Just Moved Into The United States?

image

If you’re not an American citizen and you move to the United States, then you’ll need to get an SSN, or Social Security Number, before you can officially start a job working for anyone. This number is used in reporting your earnings to the federal government, which tracks contributions into the Social Security program so it knows how much to distribute to people later in life when they retire or qualify for various reasons. If you’re just going to reside inside the United States, but not work, then you’re not eligible to put in an application for a Social Security Number.

You might think you need a Social Security Number in order to do business with banks and credit companies, given how many of them will ask you for your number. However, in the majority of cases, there are alternative forms and methods of identification that can be used instead. It’s not necessary for you to have a Social Security Number or card in order to get private health insurance, register your kids for schools, or even to get a driver’s license. If however, you do get a Social Security Card, you need to make sure that you keep it in a safe place, and not your purse or wallet. Having said that, you can get a replacement if you lose your card, although your identity might be at risk, which is bad enough for citizens and long-term residents. It’s a very hard thing to deal with if you’re new to the nation.

How you get a Social Security Number and card will depend on whether or not you come in as an immigrant or not. Immigrants might also be considered non-citizens but permanent residents. They can actually apply from their home countries before they even physically depart for the United States since there is a process for filing immigrant visas. Also, it is possible to just physically visit a Social Security office once you arrive in the United States. Non-immigrants can only apply for a Social Security Number and card by physically visiting an office once they enter the nation.

Social Security offices are located in all major cities and towns. You should wait for 10 days after your arrival into the United States before you apply at the nearest Social Security office, since it can usually take that much time for any required documents to become available online. There is no fee, expense, or charge associated with simply getting a Social Security Number. The entire process usually runs about two weeks. When it is completed, then applicants get a small physical card that has their Social Security Number on it.

Non-immigrants might not need a Social Security Number, especially if they are not going to work. On the other hand, immigrants are advised to get them, even if they’re not going to work, since it makes it easier to do banking, pay taxes, and even be listed as someone’s dependent on their tax return.

You can request a Social Security Number and card when you do your visa application. The information the Department of Social Security needs would be given to them from what you enter on either the electronic form DS 260 from the Department of State titled “Immigrant Visa Electronic Application” or their paper form DS 230 called “Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration”. The Department of Homeland Security also shares information with Social Security offices in order to issue SSN cards to new arrivals.

If all this works out, it’s not necessary for immigrants to visit a Social Security office when they get into the United States, as they can be assigned an SSN in advance. That SSN card would get mailed to the same address that the Department of Homeland Security sends someone their Permanent Resident Card. If an immigrant already has a Social Security Number, then they would be issued a replacement SSN card. In either case, the Social Security Card should come in the mail within three weeks to a month after the new arrival enters the country. If someone does not receive their Social Security card within three weeks, or their mailing address changes after they arrive in the United States, they should call their closest Social Security office.

If you’re an immigrant who didn’t apply for a Social Security Number as part of your visa process and application, then you’ll have to visit an office once you’re in the country and have a permanent address. When you do this, you’ll need several papers with you. For starters, your passport is necessary, and if you have them, you should bring your Machine-Readable Immigrant Visa, otherwise known as an MRIV. You should also bring your Form I-551 Permanent Resident Card if you have it too. You’ll also need a birth certificate for each family member who is applying for an SSN.

If you’re not fluent in English, then the Social Security program can help you in several ways. First, there is information available in 17 different languages offered through the Multilanguage Gateway. Also, interpreters can also be provided anytime that you visit or even call Social Security.

Asylees are not immigrants, but aliens who come to the United States or any port of entry and is unwilling or unable to go home or might be seeking protection due to fears of persecution based on political opinion, social group membership, nationality, race, or religion. Asylees must remain in the United States continuously for one year before being allowed to adjust their status to permanent resident, but they can still apply for Social Security Numbers if they’d like to work while here. Things work very similarly for those designated as refugees rather than asylees.

Now that you’ve read all of this, you roughly know how to get a Social Security card if you’re a noncitizen coming into the United States. Immigrants can apply for one as part of their visa process before entering the country, but can also visit an office after entering, which is what asylees and refugees must do.
